Nurse Educator

Bethesda Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Educator to join our team. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for developing and implementing educational programs for our nursing staff, with a focus on long-term care and geriatric nursing.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive orientation program for new nursing staff, incorporating regulatory requirements and best practices in long-term care.
- Conduct regular in-service training sessions for nursing staff, focusing on topics such as infection control, resident safety, and Alzheimer's disease care.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to develop and implement educational programs that meet the needs of our nursing staff and residents.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to nursing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in geriatric nursing.
- Develop and maintain educational materials and resources for nursing staff, including policies and procedures, training manuals, and online resources.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to address them.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that educational programs are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- BSN or related baccalaureate preparation in education preferred.
- Current RN license in Missouri and Illinois.
- CPR/AED certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment.
- Minimum of five years of recent clinical nursing experience, with at least two years in long-term care.
- Excellent communication and teaching skills, with the ability to work effectively with nursing staff at all levels.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to quality and patient safety.
- BSN or related baccalaureate preparation in education.
- Experience in long-term care education and training.
- Certification as a CPR instructor or other relevant certifications.
