The role of a Staff Accountant is integral to the growth of the Accounting and Finance department, operating under the guidance of the Controller. This position is designed for a dedicated and proactive professional.

Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant

  • Accounts Payable Management: Examine invoices for accuracy and necessary documentation. Authorize and categorize invoices. Input accounts payable into the accounting software and execute payments as needed.
  • General Ledger Reconciliation: Prepare and oversee journal entries, along with bank and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Assistance with Financial Audits: Support the reconciliation of sub-ledger accounts. Aid in the preparation of materials for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Create and maintain templates for unaudited financial statements or prepare and present them as required. Develop and generate cash flow statements and projection analyses on a quarterly basis or upon request.
  • Documentation of Policies and Procedures: Ensure that accounting documentation is organized and comprehensive.
  • General Responsibilities: Address internal inquiries promptly and prepare ad-hoc reports as requested by management or other departments.

Qualifications for the Staff Accountant
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline
  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience
  • 1-3 years of experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and possess advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with computerized accounting systems, such as QuickBooks
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail
