Codman Square Health Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Service Representative I to join our team. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and medical staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Patient Welcome and Check-In: Greet patients warmly and establish a positive first impression, ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in process.
- Waiting Room Management: Monitor the waiting room, coordinate with clinical staff to notify patients of any delays, and maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Registration and Insurance Verification: Perform patient registration, insurance verification, and collect required co-pays or other payments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) Management: Accurately enter patient data, telephone encounters, referrals, forms, and prescription requests into the EHR system.
- Form Management: Assist patients with completing and collecting pre-visit, consent, and other forms, and process patient forms, letters, or obtain prescription request information.
- Appointment Scheduling: Assist patients with scheduling appointments within or across Codman Square Health Center departments.
- Patient Portal Promotion: Promote the use of our patient portal to enhance patient engagement and access to their medical information.
- Check-Out and Follow-Up: Perform patient check-out, schedule follow-up appointments, and assist patients with referral processes.
- Pre-Registration and No-Shows: Perform patient pre-registration and manage no-shows and cancellations in a timely and efficient manner.
- Transfer Coordination: Coordinate the transfer of patients from clinics and Urgent Care.
- Message Management: Effectively manage in-basket patient-related messages in a timely manner.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical/clinical office environment or health or dental insurance industry required.
- Customer Service: Previous customer service background required.
- Language: Haitian Creole or Spanish preferred.
- Customer Service: Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Communication: Ability to interact with diverse patient populations.
- Technical: Solid computer literacy, ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize work.
- Medical Knowledge: Solid understanding of medical insurance terminology.
- System Knowledge: Previous experience and knowledge of Community Health Center or Hospital patient registration systems, insurance eligibility verification systems.
- Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn new systems and tasks, work as a team member, and independently.
- Stress Management: Ability to remain calm and composed, even in stressful situations.
