Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative services to students related to student-specific IEP goals.
  • Utilize evidence-based strategies and methods to meet diverse student needs.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with faculty and staff to ensure they understand the needs of the student and how they can support these needs in the classroom.
  • Accurately complete all paperwork related to provided services in a timely manner as mandated by New York State and school policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • NYS Certification in the area of Speech and Hearing Handicapped or Speech and Language Disabilities.
  • NYS licensed and ASHA certification preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of augmentative communication devices.
  • ASHA certification preferred.
  • Experience with developmental disabilities, including autism preferred.
  • A commitment to meeting the needs of every student.
  • A strong belief that all students can succeed.
