Senior Principal Systems Engineer

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our team in Dulles, VA or El Segundo, CA. As a key member of our Mission Integration program, you will be responsible for leading the development and review of requirements, verification plans, and architecture at all levels of the system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review requirements, verification plans, and architecture at all levels of the system
- Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into lower level specifications
- Integrate complex design elements across multiple teams and vendors of the program
- Coordinate with all levels of the program to ensure a comprehensive system design
- Ensure ground system software teams are developing and design their content that meet the system requirements
- Provide subject matter expertise for the Thread to the program
- Brief program leadership, customers, and stakeholders on the Thread
- Engage in formal and informal mentoring to support knowledge transfer and talent development
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM area (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 8 years of applicable experience, or a Master's Degree and 6 years of applicable experience
- Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access
- Experience in requirements management, system architecture development, and CONOPs
- Knowledge in Mod/Sim tools: STK, Matlab, AFSIM, Python
- Experience in (R&V, modeling and simulation/analysis, briefing materials, provide SME input)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active or current TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance
- Experience coordinating the efforts of diverse stakeholders
- Proficiency in any modeling and simulation tools: Cameo, STK, Matlab, AFSIM, Python
