Position Overview

We are looking for a committed Safety Representative with experience in the utility sector. This role is crucial for ensuring adherence to safety standards and protocols related to underground gas distribution systems. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, outstanding communication abilities, and a strong dedication to safety practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspection and Oversight: Conduct routine evaluations of underground gas distribution systems to detect potential safety risks and confirm compliance with industry regulations.
  • Hazard Evaluation: Execute risk assessments to identify potential dangers associated with underground gas distribution operations and formulate strategies to minimize risks.
  • Training and Development: Deliver training sessions and educational resources to staff and contractors on safety measures, procedures, and best practices for managing underground gas distribution systems.
  • Regulatory Adherence: Remain updated on pertinent safety regulations and standards related to underground gas distribution systems, ensuring compliance with all necessary requirements.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Keep precise records of inspections, incidents, training sessions, and compliance documentation. Generate reports for management and regulatory bodies as needed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety-related position is highly preferred.
  • Open to recent graduates eager to learn and develop within our organization.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Preferred safety certifications include CIH, CSP, CUSP, OSHT, CHS.
  • Appreciate a collaborative work environment and support for team members.
  • Willingness to travel up to 5% outside of the local area.
