Director of Strategic Value Optimization

At PlayStation Global, we're looking for a highly skilled Director of Value Optimization to join our team. As a key member of our leadership, you'll be responsible for driving value optimization across our portfolio of projects and setting financial targets for titles and studio teams within our overall portfolio.
This role operates at the junction of our leadership team, studio teams, and various functions, requiring a strong commercial mindset, influencing skills, and value judgment. You'll lead a team conducting commercial and value optimization analysis on projects and opportunities, focusing on areas such as sales optimization, marketing spend efficiency, and opex optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set and recommend financial targets for titles and studios to meet overall portfolio financial targets, projects, and studio team for revenue, opex, and profitability.
- Dynamically adjust financial targets in response to material events that require rebalancing under new constraints.
- Own short-term and long-term P&L value optimization for portfolio projects, ensuring efficient allocation of capital to maximize value under given constraints.
- Lead a team performing commercial value optimization work, such as marketing spend efficiency, price setting, sales optimization, and business models analysis.
- Collaborate closely with portfolio management and studio teams to ensure top-down portfolio constraints are effectively translated into projects and targets are stretched but realistic.
- Effectively collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure the right information, data, and input are considered in value optimization.
- Initiate and lead commercial review projects across specific projects or across the portfolio or its subset.
- Develop and present results and recommendations to decision-making stakeholders in an effective and influential way.
- Build, coach, and develop a team of commercial and value optimization professionals, ensuring a forecasting talent bench is developed, maintained, and expanded.
- Stay apprised of broader industry developments, key business metrics, and industry trends and benchmarking analysis of the gaming industry.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, strategy, finance, economics, or a related field; MBA and/or CFA designation preferred.
- Years of experience in finance planning, strategy, and business intelligence, consulting, or market research.
- Experience in the gaming industry is an advantage but not a must.
- Experience in working on portfolio projects and financial optimization gained in roles operating at the junction of business leadership and project delivery.
- Experience in value optimization in consumer businesses, such as marketing and sales.
- Data-driven approach combined with robust judgment and objectivity.
- Resilience under pressure, including from senior stakeholders.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
