ROLE SUMMARY: Deliver personalized and warm service while demonstrating leadership and collaboration with bar backs and beverage servers. Bartenders must adhere to all alcohol service regulations and procedures.

  • Retrieve cash bank and check out necessary keys.
  • Inspect all liquor and garnishes to ensure the bar is prepared for service.
  • Organize and store any beer and liquor orders needed for the shift.
  • Verify all juices and prepare fresh juice daily.
  • Empty waste bins and replace liners as required.
  • Polish glassware and maintain cleanliness of bar tools throughout the service.
  • Assist in preparing cocktails in batches.
  • Clean up any debris from both front and back of house as necessary.
  • Cut fresh fruit daily and discard any unusable items from the previous day.
  • Ensure all necessary supplies such as souvenir glasses, cups, straws, and napkins are stocked for service.
  • Wipe down bar counters and arrange stools evenly.
  • Complete the requisition sheet after all guests and servers have departed.
  • Ensure all liquor bottles are cleaned and organized.
  • Leave the bar in pristine condition.
  • Wipe down bar surfaces, liquor dispensers, and drain all wells.
  • Secure all necessary areas.
  • Count and return cash drawer to the designated area.
  • Organize all paperwork appropriately.
  • Ensure compliance with Main Cage Policy for paperwork submission.
  • Maintain cleanliness of blenders.
  • Inform the Manager on Duty of your departure and any issues that need addressing for the next day.
  • Immediately report any maintenance or repair needs to a Manager.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness as if preparing for a health inspection.
  • Keep the workspace compliant with health inspection standards.

Service Responsibilities:

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of all craft beverage offerings.
  • Greet guests promptly and place cocktail napkins before them.
  • Assist guests in navigating the drink menu as needed.
  • Process drink orders, serve beverages on napkins, and present checks in a professional manner.
  • Fully comprehend all food service steps and menu items.
  • Provide equal attention and service to all guests, regardless of their check size.
  • Adhere to pouring standards to prevent over-pouring.
  • Ensure all drinks are accurately recorded.
  • Refrain from serving alcohol to any staff members while on duty.
  • Maintain a tidy bar top at all times.
  • Serve and ring drinks for cocktail servers through the designated service window.
  • Be knowledgeable about the drink menu to take orders and process them effectively.
  • Never question a guest regarding gratuity.
  • Ensure every guest receives equal treatment with professionalism, enthusiasm, and courtesy, regardless of background.
  • Maintain a friendly demeanor.

ALCOHOL SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recognize and address signs of intoxication in guests.
  • Monitor guests for signs of intoxication or disruptive behavior and report to a Manager.
  • Politely refuse further alcohol service to intoxicated guests.
  • Verify guest identification accurately.
  • Adhere to all safety and health department regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Comply with all state and federal liquor laws.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Minimum of 1 year of bartending experience in a hospitality setting.
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Ability to interact effectively with guests, management, and staff under pressure.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while maintaining stamina and a positive attitude.
  • Proficient in cash handling and making accurate change.
  • Effective communication skills in public settings.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while remaining composed.
  • Interpersonal skills to engage effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic math skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Possession of a Union Pour Card.
  • Basic knowledge of wines and spirits.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and inclement weather.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in a similar hotel or casino environment.
  • At least two years of bartending experience.

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Alcohol Awareness Certification.
  • Food Handler's Card.
  • Pour Card.
