Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks, dishwashers, and other support personnel
  • Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality and presentation
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders for ingredients and supplies as needed
  • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to reduce food costs and improve profitability
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement new menu items and promotions

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen
  • Advanced knife skills and knowledge of kitchen equipment maintenance
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with menu development and implementation
  • Knowledge of inventory management and cost control
  • Certification in food safety and sanitation
