Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Philadelphia Brewing Company. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the preparation and presentation of our menu items.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks, dishwashers, and other support personnel
- Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality and presentation
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for ingredients and supplies as needed
- Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to reduce food costs and improve profitability
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement new menu items and promotions
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen
- Advanced knife skills and knowledge of kitchen equipment maintenance
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a high level of attention to detail
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with menu development and implementation
- Knowledge of inventory management and cost control
- Certification in food safety and sanitation
