Position Overview:


We are seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to become a vital part of our high-performing accounting team. This role is integral to the accounting department, focusing on all aspects of financial reporting, including the preparation of financial statements for executive management in a timely and precise manner.

The Financial Reporting Manager will ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong emphasis on accuracy and process enhancement. Experience in the construction industry and percentage of completion accounting is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:


Oversee the adherence to and execution of the company's accounting policies and controls in alignment with GAAP. Collaborate with the Corporate Controller and CFO to manage the operations of the Accounting Department.

Maintain a comprehensive system of accounting policies and procedures; implement controls over accounting transactions to mitigate risk. Partner with operational teams to ensure proper procedures are established and adhered to.
Support the financial reporting process, ensuring timely and reliable reporting.
Assist in establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger, managing GL entries to reflect monthly activities.

Responsibilities Include:


Managing full cycle accounting, including monthly close and all balance sheet account reconciliations (accruals, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and operating expenses).

Ensure all monthly closing entries and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.

Conduct balance sheet account analyses and maintain monthly reconciliations for all accounts.

Regularly reconcile specific accounts to expedite the monthly reconciliation cycle.
Oversee daily maintenance and reconciliation of bank accounts, addressing any discrepancies.
Maintain fixed asset schedules and reconcile PPE monthly.

Prepare and manage month-end accruals and reconcile vendor statements as needed.

Maintain recurring journal entries and post adjusting journal entries monthly.
Review indirect and SGA accounts for unusual activity and report findings.
Prepare and coordinate the maintenance of business licenses and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Collaborate with external tax preparers for the maintenance and payment of tax obligations.

Assist in all aspects of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and preparation of financial statements with commentary.

Support internal and external audits as required.
Engage in special projects and reports as requested.
Resolve transactional errors in the ERP system.

Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required, with a solid understanding of GAAP regulations.
CPA certification is preferred or in progress.
4-7+ years of progressive accounting experience is essential.
Experience with Sage 100 or Sage 300 accounting software is preferred. Knowledge of percentage of completion accounting is highly desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Suite is required.
Experience with multi-site reporting and management is a plus.
