Position Overview:


We are seeking an Assistant Corporate Controller to enhance our high-performing team in our Corporate Office.

This position is integral to the accounting department, overseeing all facets of financial reporting, including the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements for executive management.

The Assistant Corporate Controller ensures precise financial reporting in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. This role requires a detail-oriented individual focused on accuracy and process enhancement, with a preference for experience in construction and percentage of completion accounting. Proven experience in a growing organization with increasing responsibilities is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure adherence to and execution of the company's accounting policies and controls in accordance with GAAP.

• Assist in managing the Accounting Department operations alongside the Corporate Controller and CFO.

• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implement controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.

• Collaborate with operations teams to ensure proper procedures are established and followed.

• Support the financial reporting process, ensuring timely and reliable reporting.

• Assist the Corporate Controller in establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies, procedures, and internal controls.

• Maintain General Ledger accuracy and integrity, managing GL entries to reflect monthly activities.


What You Will Do:


• Oversee full cycle accounting, including monthly close and balance sheet account reconciliations (accruals, accounts receivable, accounts payable, PPE, prepaids, operating expenses, and intercompany transactions).

• Ensure all monthly closing entries and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.

• Conduct balance sheet account analyses and maintain monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.

• Daily maintenance and reconciliation of bank accounts, addressing any discrepancies.

• Prepare, manage, and record all Month End Accruals and reconcile vendor statements as applicable.

• Maintain recurring Journal Entries and post Adjusting Journal Entries monthly.

• Review indirect and SGA Accounts for unusual activity and report findings.

• Prepare and coordinate maintenance of business licenses in respective jurisdictions.

• Assist in all aspects of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and financial statement preparation.

• Support internal and IRS procedures, and accounting audits as needed.

• Address and resolve transactional errors in the ERP system.


Your Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required, with solid knowledge of GAAP.

CPA preferred or CPA track strongly preferred.

4-7+ years of progressive accounting experience.

Experience with Sage 100 or Sage 300 Accounting software is preferred. Percent of Completion accounting is highly preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Suite is required.

Experience with multi-site reporting and management is a plus.
