Position Overview:
We are seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to enhance our dynamic accounting team at our corporate headquarters. This role involves managing all facets of financial reporting, ensuring timely and precise preparation of financial documents for executive management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee adherence to accounting procedures and controls in compliance with GAAP.
  • Assist in managing the Accounting Department alongside the Corporate Controller and CFO.
  • Maintain a comprehensive system of accounting policies and procedures to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to establish and uphold proper accounting practices.
  • Support the financial reporting process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist in developing and enforcing internal policies and controls.
  • Ensure the integrity of the General Ledger and manage monthly activities.

What You Will Do:
  • Handle full-cycle accounting, including monthly close and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely completion of monthly closing entries and reconciliations.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of balance sheet accounts and maintain monthly reconciliations.
  • Manage daily bank account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and record month-end accruals and maintain recurring journal entries.
  • Review accounts for unusual activities and report findings.
  • Coordinate with external tax preparers for compliance with tax obligations.
  • Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and financial statement preparation.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with a solid understanding of GAAP.
  • CPA certification preferred or on track to obtain.
  • 4-7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience with Sage 100 or Sage 300 accounting software is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Suite is required.
  • Experience with multi-site reporting and management is a plus.
