Job Summary

The Night Auditor is responsible for the preparation and disposition of all Night Audit work. This includes front desk operations during the overnight shift, typically from 11pm to 7am. Key responsibilities include:

  • Registering guests and making reservations
  • Preparing daily reports and balancing transactions
  • Conducting security walks and maintaining a safe environment
Responsibilities

The Night Auditor will be responsible for:

  • Approaching all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly and service-oriented manner
  • Maintaining regular attendance and adhering to The Charles Hotel standards
  • Complying with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Initiating and completing the End of Day process
  • Running all reports as required for Food and Beverage audit
  • Completing the Night Audit checklist for computer procedures daily
  • Balancing the day's work, including movie revenue, telephone postings, valet laundry, servers, and desk agent's paperwork
  • Maintaining cashiering responsibilities according to Front Office procedures
  • Maintaining Front Office computer system operation according to Aimbridge Hospitality standards
  • FOLLOWING safety and emergency procedures according to The Charles Hotel standards
  • Maintaining proper record keeping, including log books
  • Being familiar with The Charles Hotel rules
  • Completing the initial direct bills daily and placing them on the Property Accountant's desk
  • Maintaining radio contact with other associates during the entire shift
  • Having a working knowledge of security procedures
  • Ensuring associates are attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow associates
  • Preparing and distributing the Daily Flash Report as needed
  • Transferring the master or house accounts as necessary
  • Distributing work, including revenue printouts, charge and paid folios, vouchers, and checks, as directed by S.O.P.'s
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
  • A High School diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to resolve guest issues and respond to emergency situations
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems, company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing
  • The ability to convey information and ideas clearly
  • The ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • The ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • The ability to handle problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
  • The ability to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions
  • The ability to work in a self-managed environment
  • The ability to listen, understand, and clarify the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests
  • The ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
