Job Summary:

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine seek a highly skilled Leave Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our Human Resources department, this individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of employee leave, including disability and medical leave programs, as well as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) interactive process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate all employee leave requests, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and state leave programs.

  • Provide expert guidance and support to employees, managers, and other stakeholders on leave-related matters, including leave policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of leave laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and provide expert advice to the organization.

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Employee Relations, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination of leave-related matters.

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve leave management processes, reduce administrative burdens, and enhance the overall employee experience.

  • Provide training and support to managers and employees on leave-related policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leave requests, approvals, and denials, as well as related documentation and communication.

  • Stay up-to-date on changes to leave laws, regulations, and industry best practices, and provide recommendations for updates to leave policies and procedures.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in leave management, human resources, or a related field.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.

  • Strong analytical and technical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
