POSITION SUMMARY:
The Surgical Technologist plays a crucial role in ensuring a sterile environment for patient care. This position involves:
- Preparing and organizing surgical instruments and supplies for various procedures.
- Anticipating the needs of the surgical team during operations.
- Providing direct assistance to surgeons and other medical personnel throughout surgical procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must demonstrate one of the following:
- Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program with current certification; new graduates must obtain certification within six months of graduation.
- Completion of a surgical technology training program in the military (Army, Navy, or Air Force).
- Prior employment in surgical technology at a Penn State Health facility or another healthcare organization within the last two years.
