About the Role

Penn State Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical First Assistant to join our team in Hershey, Pennsylvania. As a key member of our operating room team, you will provide direct patient care and assist the operating surgeon in various tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the operating surgeon in providing direct patient care and maintaining hemostasis.
  • Provide wound exposure and manipulate tissues with surgical instrumentation.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date with the latest surgical techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in a related field.
  • National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification.
  • Three years of relevant experience in a surgical setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • NBSTSA Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification.
