Role Responsibilities:
As a Trainer, you will be expected to maintain exceptional customer service and communicate effectively in a professional manner. Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions are essential, along with a positive attitude in all interactions. Collaboration and teamwork across all departments are crucial, as is adherence to Puppy Paws' Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Our training team is passionate about dogs and employs a gentle approach to training. We are committed to ensuring a safe and loving environment.
Position Details:
This is a full-time role with a schedule that includes weekdays and occasional weekends or evenings for group training sessions.
Key Duties:
- Embody Puppy Paws' core values.
- Demonstrate reliability, as we care for beloved pets.
- Be open to learning and enhancing your skills through ongoing education.
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture.
- Supervise and engage with dogs of various sizes with confidence.
- Ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all dogs by following our Dog Safety SOP.
- Work independently on assigned tasks while also accepting guidance when needed.
- Maintain a tidy work environment.
- Be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Be prepared to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Exhibit a consistent work ethic.
- Communicate clearly and consistently.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Handle client communications for scheduling purposes.
- Organize multiple tasks calmly and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate documentation for client and pet records.
- Assist clients with necessary information and scheduling future appointments.
- Utilize our PetExec system for documentation and communication.
- Provide excellent customer service and professional communication.
- Advocate for pets through educational initiatives.
- Conduct temperament assessments for new clients.
- Engage with the Puppy Paws team and dogs daily, focusing on behavior and training techniques.
- Maintain a positive demeanor in all interactions.
- Show empathy towards clients and treat pets with kindness and respect.
- Conduct facility tours.
- Participate in off-site events.
- Lead group training sessions and individual training.
- Deliver formal presentations effectively.
- Observe and assess dog behaviors to identify suitable training methods.
- Possess strong organizational skills.
- Utilize critical thinking to evaluate solutions and approaches.
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, good judgment, and the ability to manage stressful situations.
