Position Summary: The Mail Insertion Specialist is tasked with the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the W+D BB700 machine to ensure the production of precise work within designated timelines. This role involves conducting quality assessments and performing various tasks as needed, depending on workload and delivery schedules. It is crucial for the Mail Insertion Specialist to deliver high-quality, meticulous work in accordance with established protocols and procedures, emphasizing precision and consistent output.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with the supervisor daily to discuss schedules, job progress, and tasks.
  • Interpret job tickets and accurately document product counts and production times into the shop floor data system.
  • Machine setup and operation:
    • Configure and fine-tune pockets to minimize drops and interruptions during operation.
    • Inspect machine components and identify those requiring replacement.
    • Set up, monitor, and maintain inkjet systems as necessary.
  • Source appropriate materials for jobs based on job tickets.
  • Continuously monitor the quality of the finished product.
  • Oversee general maintenance and lubrication of the machinery.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness in the inserting area.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including PPE, ergonomics, and chemical hazards, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Maintain production records and charts.
  • Train new team members.
  • Guide machine crew during production and downtime.
  • Provide leadership as necessary.
  • Offer feedback to the supervisor for performance evaluations.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Complete and demonstrate a thorough understanding of ongoing training concepts and applications.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a production environment, preferably with inserting equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Capable of tracking and reporting on opportunities for improvement and success.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
