We are seeking a passionate Advanced Respiratory Care Specialist to contribute to our objectives.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Respiratory Therapist III showcases advanced knowledge and skills essential for directing patient care within their department. The RCP III understands the principles of growth and development across the lifespan, assesses patient conditions, and interprets necessary information to identify each patient's needs relative to age-specific requirements in critical care settings. The RCP III provides care as required and outlined in departmental policies and procedures for critical care. If this resonates with you, consider joining our esteemed team.

  • Conduct and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with the placement of artificial airways.
  • Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patients for therapeutic responses and notify providers while intervening as necessary in case of unintended responses.
  • Assist in the transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
  • Respond to emergency patient situations, ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.
  • Assess, plan, direct, and implement necessary activities for successful patient treatment.
  • Work within an intensive care environment.
Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Program.
  • Licensed by the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners.
  • Nevada State license to perform arterial blood gases.
  • Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care and possess the Neonatal Pediatric Specialty (NPS) credential.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Current ACLS certification required.
  • Current PALS certification required.
  • Current NRP certification required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in an acute care facility or freestanding practice, with recent acute care Respiratory Therapist experience within the last six months.
  • Experience in Critical Care and Ventilator Management in Adult and Pediatric/Neonatal settings preferred.
  • Preferred experience with ABGs, EKGs, ICU, preceptor experience, venous puncture, and line maintenance.
