Job Overview

Ascent Healthcare is a dynamic medical organization in the Pacific Northwest, dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in Skilled Nursing Facilities and Residential Physical Rehabilitation Centers. We are currently in search of a dedicated and self-driven full-time healthcare billing specialist who is eager to contribute to our expanding practice. Your role will be crucial to our ongoing success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the company's accounts receivable by identifying collection challenges and engaging with patients.
  • Ensure operational efficiency by adhering to established policies and procedures while reporting any compliance issues.
  • Process electronic charges, patient statements, payments, notes, and other relevant information for insurance plans.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, and payers regarding accounts receivable.
  • Verify CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 codes, and/or modifiers to accurately represent documented services.
  • Recover overdue accounts by arranging payment plans.
  • Submit insurance claims to payers and manage rejected claims through appeals and reconsideration letters.
  • Confirm patient eligibility, coverage, benefits, and understand managed care authorization requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in a fast-paced medical billing setting.
  • Proficient knowledge of Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and hospice billing practices.
  • Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance billing and reimbursement processes in the states of Oregon and Washington.
  • Customer service-oriented with strong communication skills and a commitment to maintaining professional and ethical standards.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations, confidentiality, and record-keeping practices.
  • Comfortable navigating various software applications and insurance websites.
  • Exhibit a high level of integrity and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with credentialing is advantageous.

Ascent Healthcare offers a competitive compensation and benefits package in a supportive environment. This full-time position operates from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. All candidates will undergo pre-employment drug testing and a background check.
