Director of Human Resources

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Human Resources to join our team at Virginia Commercial Space. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our Human Resources department and overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Direct, supervise, and monitor the performance of the HR staff
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with our overall business strategy
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues
- Manage the recruitment and selection process
- Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital
- Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization
- Nurture a positive working environment
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
- Maintain pay plan and benefits program
- Provide guidance and coach supervisors on disciplinary matters, disputes, and investigations, and performance; recommend transfers, reassignment, termination, and disciplinary actions
- Serve as a subject matter expert on HR practices and draft and interpret rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; advise on trends or challenges and recommend appropriate courses of action
- Provide guidance regarding talent management, productivity, recognition, and morale, and training and development
- Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends
- At least five years in a Human Resources role, and at least two years in a supervisory role
- An equivalent combination of training and experience may substitute for a degree
- Experience working and/or familiarity with state agencies, authorities, or other governmental entities preferred
- SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or HRCI Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or HRCI Professional in Human Resources (PHR) preferred
Work is performed in a typical office setting. The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
