Position Overview
The School of Health Professions is in search of an Adjunct Faculty Member specializing in Healthcare Leadership.
In this capacity, the faculty member will be responsible for instructing groups of students within a designated core discipline as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
The Adjunct Faculty Member will engage with students, provide constructive feedback, and motivate learners to meet course and program objectives pertinent to the core discipline.

This role involves collaboration with fellow faculty members, the Department Chair, and the Dean.
Essential Duties
The responsibilities of the Adjunct Faculty Member encompass teaching courses within a specified core discipline as designated.
Performance Metrics
Performance expectations for teaching include, but are not limited to:

The Adjunct Faculty Member will send a welcome communication to their assigned students one week prior to the commencement of the course, when feasible, but always within the initial week of the course.

The Adjunct Faculty Member will create and share a video introduction that will be included in each course.

The Adjunct Faculty Member will respond to all student inquiries within two calendar days, which may necessitate weekend responses.

This requirement is waived only if the Adjunct Faculty Member is on leave or during recognized holidays.

Communication with students will occur through the University’s learning management system (LMS), designated University systems, and University-assigned email.

The Adjunct Faculty Member will notify Student Services through the LMS as soon as they identify a student who is not actively participating in the course.

The Adjunct Faculty Member will reach out to a student via email and phone to encourage re-engagement in the course as soon as they notice a lack of participation.

Utilizing the available technology, the Adjunct Faculty Member will conduct at least two one-hour synchronous office hour sessions each week. Office hours will be clearly posted in each course.
The Adjunct Faculty Member will provide meaningful feedback to students.

Quality Feedback
Feedback should be substantive and focused on content, impart knowledge, share resources, and engage in dialogue with students. It should include tracked changes for proper mechanics and a summary statement highlighting key observations.

Scholarship Expectations
The Adjunct Faculty Member is expected to fulfill the University’s scholarship requirements as outlined in the Faculty Handbook. They are encouraged to apply for various initiatives funded by the University to promote research and scholarship.

Responsibilities Include:
Maintaining a record of scholarly activities appropriate for a doctoral-granting institution
Contributing to the body of knowledge within their discipline
Compliance with University Policies
Adjunct Faculty Members are expected to be familiar with, acknowledge, and adhere to University policies as detailed in the Team Member Handbook and Faculty Handbook.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
A Master’s degree in Health Administration, Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
A minimum of two (2) years of direct teaching experience at the Master’s and/or Doctoral level.
A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in healthcare administration supervision and/or curriculum development.
Proficiency in online instruction and remote communication.
All qualifications will be considered for minimum requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
A Doctorate degree.
Professional and/or research experience in the relevant content area.
Publications in research-based, peer-reviewed journals.
Experience in higher education.
Experience in a technology-driven environment.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in APA style.

Compensation:
Hourly Rate:
$28.89
