The College of Business, Engineering, and Technology/School of Technology and Engineering is in search of an Adjunct Faculty Member specializing in Information Systems.
Role ResponsibilitiesIn this capacity, the adjunct faculty member will be responsible for instructing groups of students within a designated core discipline. Key duties encompass:
- Engaging students effectively and providing constructive feedback.
- Motivating students to meet course and program objectives pertinent to the discipline.
This position necessitates close collaboration with fellow faculty members, the Associate Dean, and the Dean.
Essential DutiesThe Adjunct Faculty Member will:
- Deliver courses within the assigned core discipline.
- Communicate with students through the University’s learning management system and designated email.
- Host a minimum of two one-hour synchronous office hours each week, with schedules posted in each course.
- Provide quality feedback that is substantive and focused on content.
It is expected that the Adjunct Faculty Member will fulfill the scholarship requirements as outlined in the Faculty Handbook and is encouraged to pursue various research initiatives funded by the University.
ComplianceAdjunct Faculty Members are required to be familiar with and adhere to University policies as detailed in the Team Member Handbook and Faculty Handbook.
QualificationsEducation & Experience:
- A graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution, accompanied by substantial industry experience.
- Hands-on experience in database technologies and artificial intelligence.
- Proficiency in facilitating both in-person and online instruction.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A terminal degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience teaching adult learners and developing curriculum.
- Familiarity with online education delivery systems.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other educational technologies.
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement.
Compensation:The hourly rate for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
