The School of Health Professions is in search of an Adjunct Faculty Member specializing in Healthcare Leadership.
In this capacity, the adjunct instructor will be responsible for educating student cohorts within a designated core discipline. Key duties encompass engaging learners, providing constructive feedback, and motivating students to meet course and program objectives pertinent to the core area of study. This role necessitates collaboration with fellow faculty members, the Department Chair, and the Dean.
Core Responsibilities
The Adjunct Faculty Member will undertake the following tasks:
- Deliver courses within the assigned core discipline as designated.
- Communicate with students effectively through the University’s learning management system and designated email.
- Ensure timely responses to student inquiries, typically within two calendar days, except during approved leave or holidays.
- Monitor student engagement and reach out to those not actively participating to encourage re-engagement.
- Conduct a minimum of two one-hour synchronous office hours weekly, with times posted in each course.
- Provide insightful and constructive feedback to students, ensuring it is substantive and focused on content.
The Adjunct Faculty Member is expected to adhere to the University’s scholarship requirements as outlined in the Faculty Handbook. They are encouraged to engage in research initiatives supported by the University, which include:
- Maintaining a record of scholarly activities appropriate for a doctoral-granting institution.
- Contributing to the advancement of knowledge within their field.
