Position Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Federal Construction Superintendent / QCM / SSHO who will play a pivotal role in overseeing construction projects. This position involves managing daily Quality Control and Safety operations while serving as the project superintendent on Federal construction assignments. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary expertise to conduct Quality Control Meetings, perform inspections, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the Quality Control Plan for the project, adhering to established control phases.
  • Ensure all submittals meet contract specifications and compliance requirements.
  • Assist subcontractors in developing Activity Hazard Analyses and ensure compliance in the field.
  • Review project plans and specifications to guarantee adherence to construction standards.
  • Provide evaluations and assistance to staff and subcontractors regarding quality control.
  • Oversee testing of materials and systems, ensuring they are conducted by approved personnel.
  • Document and distribute inspection results to relevant agencies.
  • Implement timely corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Maintain hazardous material reports in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Conduct final inspections and ensure all deficiencies are addressed.
  • Manage the Safety Program for the project, following established guidelines.
  • Evaluate construction sites for safety compliance and identify potential hazards.
  • Conduct accident investigations and provide recommendations for preventive measures.
  • Facilitate weekly safety meetings and ensure subcontractor compliance with safety standards.
  • Provide daily supervision of subcontractors and monitor their performance.
  • Assist Project Managers in coordinating activities and ensuring project timelines are met.

Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of construction processes, particularly in renovation and repair.
  • A minimum of 10 years of vertical construction experience, with at least 5 years on projects valued at $2M or more.
  • Recent experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Completion of 8 hours of safety training annually for the past 5 years.
  • OSHA 30 certification is required.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Work Environment:
This role involves a combination of office and outdoor site work, requiring the ability to navigate various physical conditions. The position may involve exposure to outdoor elements and requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
