Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Engineer plays a crucial role as a quality specialist; this is a hands-on position.

They will ensure that the quality of produced components meets all customer standards promptly and effectively, taking action when discrepancies are identified.

Maintain the latest interpretations of quality system requirements to ensure that documented practices accurately reflect the true interpretation of quality management system standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with customers' quality and engineering teams to identify critical part features and assess the manufacturability of designs. Recommend modifications to customer part specifications and tolerances as needed to support cost-effective production.
  • Provide engineering support to operations, ensuring consistent application of quality methodologies.
  • Address quality issues related to capability, tolerancing, and materials.
  • Identify problems, evaluate solution options, implement action plans, and allocate resources to resolve quality issues.
  • Communicate effectively and reinforce HYDAC's commitment to quality enhancement initiatives.
  • Develop and submit Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documents for new product launches to meet customer specifications.
  • Determine when to conduct process stability and capability studies on existing processes. Analyze results and recommend process modifications based on findings, followed by verification of effectiveness.
  • Engage in Advanced Product Quality Planning activities to determine the appropriate use of existing and new measurement systems during new tool or process design and initiation.
  • Oversee pre-launch production trial run process monitoring.
  • Contribute to the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Maintain Control Plans and FMEAs throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Facilitate and encourage the use of effective problem-solving techniques for thorough root cause analysis and successful corrective actions.
  • Perform duties in accordance with quality system requirements, representing HYDAC's customers.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, and Production to address customer complaints and concerns.
  • Lead the PPM improvement plan for strategic customers.
  • Execute and assist with ISO Audit plans.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and suppliers.
  • Manage the Document Control system.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.

3 to 5 years of experience managing a certified quality management system (e.g., TS 16949, ISO).

Previous experience in Supplier Quality is preferred. Exceptional mechanical aptitude and a proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.
