Position Overview

Are you driven to discover innovative methods for enhancing our testing efficiency and coverage? Reinventing Geospatial, Inc. is on the lookout for a Quality Assurance Software Engineer to become part of our dynamic team, dedicated to ensuring excellence through the development and execution of both manual and automated regression tests.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will involve collaborating with the development team to evaluate new software upon completion and providing direct troubleshooting assistance to our clients. You will play a crucial part in guaranteeing that our products deliver the dependable performance our clients expect.

As a Quality Assurance Software Engineer, you will engage with operational users to design, develop, and sustain functionalities that enable analysts to manage and integrate data from various intelligence sources in support of national security objectives. Our software platform is built and operated within AWS cloud environments, pushing the boundaries of analytical tools.

Clearance Requirements

Security Clearance:
Active Top Secret clearance with a commitment to obtain an SCI and CI polygraph. U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Acquiring knowledge of our software from an end-user standpoint.
  • Creating and executing automated front-end regression tests.
  • Developing and conducting automated back-end tests.
  • Performing manual regression testing procedures.
  • Documenting test outcomes, defects, and design shortcomings in the software.
  • Collaborating with fellow testers, developers, and the operations integration team.
  • Assisting developers in crafting realistic testing scenarios.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in software testing engineering. Familiarity with software development processes, including infrastructure, design, development, testing/QA, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance is essential. Strong organizational skills for documenting existing testing capabilities, performance, and requirements are necessary. Security+ Certification is required or must be obtained within the first six months of employment.

Preferred Skills:
Experience with Agile methodologies and participation in Agile development programs, knowledge of test automation frameworks, and proficiency in both Linux and Windows environments. Familiarity with Bash scripting is also advantageous.

Desirable Experience

Experience in the following areas is a plus:

  • AWS (Amazon Web Services)
  • Docker/Kubernetes
  • Document-Oriented Data Stores (e.g., Elasticsearch, Solr)
  • Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and OGC WMS/WFS
  • Javascript, HTML5, CSS, and RESTful APIs
  • Version control systems like Git
Compensation

Salary Range:
$63,000 - $127,000, commensurate with experience.
