ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role encompasses project engineering and entry-level project management duties within a marine construction and commercial diving context, along with assisting in estimating tasks as needed.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Support contract management for the Contracts Manager and Project Managers, including handling change orders, subcontract preparation, purchase orders, project schedules, client invoicing, material pricing, and project buyout.
  • Engage in Bid to Job transition meetings to grasp project setup for cost tracking and revenue analysis.
  • Prepare necessary project documentation, including material certifications and shop drawings, while maintaining an accurate submittal log as required.
  • Assist in developing and updating project schedules as necessary.
  • Review project accounts payable invoices to ensure proper coding.
  • Contribute to the analysis of potential project impacts, such as cost overruns, savings, quantity discrepancies, material variances, and rework.

ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Capability to read, interpret, and comprehend project plans, specifications, and scope of work.
  • Ability to remain adaptable and efficient in a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines independently.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Viewpoint, Heavy Job, Microsoft Office Suite, and related software.

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is required.
  • Experience in the construction sector is preferred but not mandatory.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS:

This position is classified as Safety Sensitive, requiring work on project sites, including federal projects and construction diving. Responsibilities may involve working at heights, around heavy machinery, and under varying conditions, as well as undertaking underwater construction tasks. This role may also necessitate project site work during evenings and weekends as required. Candidates will be subject to rigorous drug testing and compliance policies due to our status as a Federal Contractor.
