SUMMARY OF DUTIES FOR ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER:

This role encompasses responsibilities as a project engineer and entry-level project management within a marine construction and commercial diving context, as well as support for estimating tasks when necessary.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Contracts Manager and Project Managers with contract management tasks, including change orders, subcontract preparation, purchase orders, project schedules, client invoicing, material pricing, and project buyout.
  • Engage in Bid to Job transition meetings to gain insights into project setup for accurate job costing and revenue tracking.
  • Prepare project submittals, including material certifications and shop drawings, while maintaining an organized submittal log as required.
  • Support the development and updates of project schedules as necessary.
  • Review project accounts payable invoices to ensure proper coding.
  • Assist in analyzing potential job impacts, such as cost overruns, savings, quantity variances, material discrepancies, and rework.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER:

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Capability to read, interpret, and comprehend project plans, specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Ability to adapt and remain effective in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient time management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with Viewpoint, Heavy Job, Microsoft Office Suite, and related software.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is mandatory.
  • Experience in the construction sector is advantageous but not obligatory.
