EXPECTED SALARY RANGE
The anticipated salary range for this position is between $121,500 and $135,000, depending on experience, in addition to a comprehensive benefits package that includes bonuses and a 401(k) plan.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The primary role involves leading and mentoring a team of chemists. This position is responsible for setting clear standards related to technical performance, safety, and human performance. Duties include overseeing method and procedure development, ensuring equipment operability, maintaining quality control, and processing samples. The role also entails providing technical assistance to customers, maintenance personnel, and engineering teams as needed. Effective communication across all organizational levels is essential to collaborate with management on implementing new initiatives and identifying future project opportunities.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Supervise technical staff on a daily basis, focusing on performance management, training, and oversight of technical, safety, and quality standards.
- Manage daily operations to achieve departmental objectives.
- Enforce established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Engage with all organizational levels and collaborate with management and customers to formulate strategies for development opportunities and future projects.
- Provide technical support to customers as required.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field with a minimum of 6 years of professional experience, or an Associate's degree with 8 years of experience including 3 years in an exempt-level role, or a High School diploma with 10 years of experience including 5 years in an exempt-level role, or at least 8 years of professional experience with 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience in chemical laboratory analysis.
- Strong skills in strategic planning, organization, and resource management.
- Excellent oral communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficient in effective communication across all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated business acumen in project management, budget development, work planning, scheduling, and analytical problem-solving.
- Proven track record as a motivated self-starter capable of working independently.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
- Willingness to travel to various locations as needed.
- Proficient in computer applications.
• Experience with Lube Oil, Transformer Oil, or Water analysis.
• Background in Nuclear Power.
• Familiarity with GC-MS, ICP analysis, and other oil testing methodologies.
• MLA Certification.
