About the Position:
The City of Norfolk, VA is seeking a customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Experience Specialist.
About the Job:
This role will focus on providing exceptional customer service to visitors at our maritime discovery center, ensuring a positive experience for all guests. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively, work well in a team environment, and maintain accurate records.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and interact with guests
- Answer on-site guest questions and resolve guest issues
- Accurately process monetary transactions and adhere to all cash handling policies
- Process admission tickets, membership enrollments/renewals/gifts through CRM software
- Maintain and update membership database ensuring accuracy
- Support events by staffing check ins, membership sales, and maintaining lines
- Support end of day sales reconciliation, contribute to preparation / closeout of tills utilized by Guest Services team
Requirements:
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Benefits:
This part-time intermittent temporary position offers a competitive salary of $15/hour, which is equivalent to approximately $31,200/year based on 20 hours per week. The job also includes weekends, may include some evenings and holidays.
