Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Maintenance Specialist to join our team at M1 Support Services. As an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and meet industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair aircraft structures and structural components, as well as engines of complex to extreme difficulty.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on aircraft components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition and operation.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems, interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers' manuals.
  • Position requires a comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, as well as knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair.
  • Perform aircraft and equipment maintenance on other assigned aircraft in a highly cross-utilization/trained environment.
  • Perform at a moderate level of competency in one or more of the following areas: repair and reclamation, egress, electro/environmental, avionics, wheel & tire, sheet metal, composite repair, propulsion, fuels, AGE, armament, munitions, non-destructive inspection (NDI), and pneudraulics.
  • Maintain aircraft and support equipment forms records in accordance with AF procedures utilizing AF Information Systems and forms as required.
  • Perform transient aircraft support, CDDAR team chief, Phase dock, QA augmentation, Wheel & Tire duties.
Requirements
  • Minimum of ten years performing fighter aircraft maintenance functions in a military environment with at least 8 years F-117A, and attainment of an Air Force 7 level (or equivalent) is required.
  • Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining a professional and non-confrontational attitude.
  • Shall assist other personnel and work centers as directed, and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to make entries in aircraft logs and records and is responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance effort.
  • The incumbent must possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike.
  • The incumbent must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.
  • Will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
  • Working knowledge of principles applying to aircraft systems, concepts and applications of maintenance directives, data reporting, and using technical data is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Air Force supply and efficiency reporting procedures is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of the proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials is mandatory.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain the security clearance level as mandated by the government customer.
  • Maintains qualifications contained on the Special Certification Roster (SCR) as directed.
  • Must possess a current valid U.S. Driver's License.
  • Must speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
Working Conditions
  • Position requires complying with unique commuting/travel requirements.
  • Will work in aircraft hangars and outside on aircraft ramps within close proximity of running equipment and aircraft.
  • Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, or overtime shifts as required.
  • May work outdoors, sometimes in hot or cold weather.
  • May be exposed to contaminants.
  • May be exposed to hazardous conditions, such as when standing on scaffolding or climbing ladders.
  • Will be exposed to loud and persistent noise.
  • Will be required to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as: safety toe footwear, safety glasses, etc.
