Position Overview

The Environmental Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring environmental compliance at our sites and aligning global initiatives in planning and execution of essential Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) projects. You will engage in daily operations, enhance processes to align with corporate environmental strategies, and collaborate across departments to meet compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage environmental compliance data collection (air, wastewater, hazardous materials) to adhere to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Analyze environmental data to assess organizational performance and the effectiveness of the corporate environmental management system.
  • Stay updated on changes to applicable environmental laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement systems supporting global sustainability initiatives.
  • Communicate environmental performance and compliance status to key stakeholders.
  • Oversee compliance status through an online dashboard system, continuously improving the system.
  • Engage with regulatory agencies and consultants during audits and work with teams to address findings.
  • Manage EH&S systems, including developing and implementing program documentation and training materials.
  • Participate in emergency response efforts for chemical spills/releases and support investigations of incidents.
  • Assist in preparing reports on accidents, incidents, and near-misses, working with teams to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Lead risk management practices to ensure safe chemical usage and equipment operation.
  • Provide safety training on various health and safety topics, including Lockout/Tagout and Hazard Communication.
  • Support health and safety programs through industrial hygiene studies and site safety inspections.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational health, safety, or a related engineering field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant EHS experience, ideally in the chemical or electronics sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies on compliance matters.
  • Ability to research changes in environmental regulations and identify necessary data for compliance.
  • Experience with Air, Source Registration, Tier II, and TURA reporting.
  • Training in chemical emergency response and first-aid.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with hazardous materials processing and storage permitting.
  • Understanding of ISO standards, particularly ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Knowledge of chemical hazards and risk assessment techniques.
