Position Overview
The Environmental Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring environmental compliance and sustainability across our operations. You will be instrumental in daily activities, enhancing processes to align with corporate environmental goals, and collaborating across departments to meet compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the collection of environmental compliance data (air, wastewater, hazardous materials) to adhere to federal, state, and local regulations.
- Analyze environmental data to assess the organization's performance and the effectiveness of our environmental management system.
- Stay updated on changes to environmental regulations and policies at all levels.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support global sustainability initiatives.
- Communicate with key stakeholders regarding the organization's environmental performance and compliance status.
- Oversee compliance management through an online dashboard system.
- Engage with regulatory agencies during audits and work with teams to address findings.
- Develop and implement EH&S systems, including documentation and training materials.
- Support emergency response efforts in the event of incidents.
- Assist in preparing reports on accidents and incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
- Lead risk management practices for safe chemical usage and process development.
- Provide safety training on various health and safety topics.
- Support health and safety programs through inspections and reviews.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational health, safety, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in EHS, preferably in the chemical or electronics sector.
- Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations.
- Experience working with regulatory agencies on compliance matters.
- Ability to research changes in environmental regulations.
- Experience with environmental reporting requirements.
- Training in chemical emergency response and safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with hazardous materials processing and permitting.
- Understanding of ISO standards, particularly ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Knowledge of chemical hazards and risk assessment techniques.
