Job Overview

Position Summary:

The role of the Aggregate Plant Technician encompasses the crucial tasks of overseeing production, conducting maintenance, ensuring quality, and upholding safety standards within the operations of the aggregates sector.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections and monitoring of treatment plant processes; troubleshoot and document performance metrics.
  • Operate and fine-tune treatment plant machinery, including pumps, motors, and feeders, to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Utilize welding equipment for tasks such as welding, brazing, and cutting as required.
  • Select appropriate welding rods for both ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • Fabricate components based on blueprints and detailed instructions.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical components including bearings, speed reducers, and belts.
  • Maintain and repair crushing, screening, and conveying systems.
  • Perform routine housekeeping and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities, inventory, and maintenance logs as directed.
  • Engage in various training programs, including safety and job-specific training, and complete assessments as required.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations relevant to the facility and job functions.
  • Propose improvements to operational processes to enhance safety and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Skills Required:

  • Demonstrated reliability and high performance in attendance and work output.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English, with basic mathematical skills.
  • Complete necessary documentation and maintain daily inventory records.
  • Participate actively in safety and job briefings, sharing relevant information with team members.
  • Work collaboratively within a team, following directions and adapting to additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Comply with company standards and regulatory requirements in all tasks.
  • Exhibit self-motivation and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods on various surfaces.
  • Capability to climb ladders and navigate stairways and catwalks.
  • Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel as required.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry loads up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
