Plant Operator/Laborer

The Plant Operator role is a critical position within The Heritage Group's Aggregates Operations function. This role is responsible for maintaining production, maintenance, quality, and safety standards across our operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Plant Operations: Perform assigned treatment plant rounds, inspecting, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance testing, and documenting plant processes.
- Equipment Maintenance: Operate and adjust treatment plant pumps, motors, feeders, and other equipment to maintain optimal plant operations.
- Welding and Fabrication: Use gas or electrical welding equipment to weld, braze, and cut various materials, and determine proper rod selection for welding ferrous or non-ferrous materials.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair bearings, speed reducers, shafts, pulleys, couplings, sheaves, and belts, as well as crushing, screening, and conveying equipment.
- Plant Maintenance: Maintain plant maintenance, including daily shoveling, sweeping, general plant housekeeping, and necessary repairs or services to mobile and stationary equipment.
- Reporting and Record-Keeping: Report orally and in writing as required, and maintain accurate records, such as activity reports, inventory reports, maintenance logs, etc.
- Training and Development: Participate in general training, job-specific training, and hazardous materials training as required, and successfully complete written examinations as needed.
- Compliance and Safety: Understand and follow all policies, procedures, and safety rules applicable to the facility, job function, and equipment.
- Process Improvement: Recommend changes to the operation that may produce safer work processes, savings, and efficiencies.
- Education: High School or Equivalent
- Skills and Abilities: Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance, follow written and verbal directions, read, write, and communicate in English, understand basic math, complete all applicable documentation, record-keeping, and daily inventory, participate in safety briefings, job briefings, and other pass-on information from team members, management, or customers.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to continuously stand or walk on level or uneven ground, ascend and descend ladders, stairways, and incline catwalks, bend, crouch, and/or kneel at the waist or knees, lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50lbs, work outside the majority of the time, and withstand extreme weather conditions.
