Position Overview:

The Operations Technician will be tasked with ensuring the efficiency of production, maintenance, quality control, and safety within the Aggregates Operations sector.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections and monitoring of treatment plant processes; troubleshoot and document performance metrics.
  • Operate and fine-tune treatment plant machinery including pumps, motors, and feeders to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Utilize welding equipment for fabrication tasks, including welding, brazing, and cutting.
  • Select appropriate welding rods for both ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • Fabricate components based on blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical components such as bearings, speed reducers, and belts.
  • Maintain and repair crushing, screening, and conveying machinery.
  • Perform general maintenance duties including housekeeping and servicing of both mobile and stationary equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including activity logs and inventory documentation.
  • Engage in safety training and adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Propose improvements to enhance operational safety and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Proficient in English communication and basic mathematical skills.
  • Experience in documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Participation in safety briefings and team communications is essential.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to take direction and adapt to additional responsibilities.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements is mandatory.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to perform other assigned duties as needed.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods on various terrains.
  • Capability to climb ladders and navigate stairways.
  • Physical ability to bend, crouch, and kneel as required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
