Position Overview:
The Operations Technician will be tasked with ensuring the smooth functioning of production, maintenance, quality control, and safety within the Aggregates Operations sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections and monitoring of treatment plant processes; troubleshoot and document performance metrics.
- Manage and adjust treatment plant machinery, including pumps, motors, and feeders, to uphold optimal operational standards.
- Utilize welding equipment for fabrication tasks, including welding, brazing, and cutting.
- Select appropriate welding rods for various materials, both ferrous and non-ferrous.
- Interpret blueprints to fabricate components as per specifications.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical components such as bearings, speed reducers, and belts.
- Address issues related to crushing, screening, and conveying machinery.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including general housekeeping and necessary repairs on both mobile and stationary equipment.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including activity logs and inventory documentation.
- Engage in safety training and complete required examinations successfully.
- Adhere to all safety policies and operational procedures relevant to the facility and equipment.
- Propose improvements to enhance safety and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
Skills Required:
- Consistent attendance and high performance levels are essential.
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions to complete tasks effectively.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English, with basic math skills.
- Capable of maintaining thorough documentation and daily inventory records.
- Participate actively in safety and job briefings.
- Team-oriented with the ability to follow directions and adapt to additional responsibilities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Commitment to compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Willingness to perform other assigned duties as needed.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods on various terrains.
- Capability to climb ladders and navigate stairways and catwalks.
- Physical agility to bend, crouch, and kneel as required.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
