Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team at Cradle Society. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, processing financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with GAAP.

Key Responsibilities
  • Record and process journal entries to ensure accurate recording of business transactions.
  • Perform weekly bill payments and remote bank deposits.
  • Process program credit card revenue.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts.
  • Reconcile bank and investment accounts.
  • Review billing statements, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy.
  • Assist with external audit and annual 990 filing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Requires 2-4 years accounting experience (Fund Accounting preferred).
  • Knowledge of and experience using integrated accounting software applications; Blackbaud FE NXT experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Solid understanding of and ability to adhere to GAAP.
  • Strong ability to apply critical reasoning.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be highly organized and exhibit a willingness to learn.
Working Conditions

This is a hybrid role that requires a minimum of two days per week on-site at our Evanston location. All staff are required to undergo a background check, fingerprinting, and medical exam to meet DCFS requirements.
