Position Overview

The Head of Sales and Trade Insights will be instrumental in guiding the Analytics Team to gather and structure critical data into actionable strategies. This role will focus on developing intuitive tools and comprehensive analyses that support strategic business decisions, both internally and with our valued customers.

Reporting directly to the Chief Customer Officer, this role is designed to be remote within the US.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across departments to ensure strategies are informed by robust customer and market insights.
  • Proactively identify business needs and insights requirements.
  • Expertly construct dashboards and reports.
  • Leverage primary and secondary research to distill complex data into clear insights.
  • Foster relationships with research agencies to refine existing tools and innovate new ones.
  • Integrate diverse data sources to enhance strategic foresight.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team dedicated to analytics initiatives.
  • Oversee customer-level business planning, including financial modeling.
  • Prepare monthly performance reports and manage special projects as assigned.
  • Build and maintain effective professional relationships with corporate departments and distributor/customer partners.
  • Conduct internal analysis, research, product evaluations, and pricing strategies.
  • Monitor market trends and economic indicators to maintain competitive pricing and sales strategies.
  • Formulate and execute sales strategies to drive growth across key markets and product categories.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business or a related field (Bachelor's degree or equivalent).
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience in insights and analytics, preferably in the consumer packaged goods sector.
  • Expertise in data mining with syndicated tools (e.g., Nielsen, POS, household panels).
  • Proven experience in developing analytical tools and processes.
  • Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities with a track record of translating data into actionable insights.
  • Robust project management skills with the capacity to prioritize and execute tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to travel frequently between Canada and the US, with potential international travel.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as necessary.
