Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at WMCHealth. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to individuals with mental health needs.

Responsibilities

  • Hygiene and Grooming: Assist patients with daily hygiene and grooming tasks, ensuring their comfort and dignity are maintained at all times.
  • Mobility and Transfer: Safely assist patients with mobility and transfer needs, promoting independence and preventing falls.
  • Nutrition and Hydration: Support patients with mealtime needs, including feeding, hydration, and calorie count maintenance.
  • Communication and Interaction: Engage with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure effective communication and quality patient outcomes.
  • Vital Signs and Treatments: Accurately assess and record patient vital signs, administer treatments, and perform procedures as per unit policies.
  • Rounds and Safety Checks: Conduct regular unit rounds and safety checks to ensure patient comfort and safety needs are met.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized patient and unit environment, adhering to infection control policies.
  • Stocking and Supply Management: Assist with stocking supplies and managing linen, ensuring a smooth operation of the unit.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience. Experience in the mental health field is preferred.
  • Certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred.
