Job Summary

Responsibilities
  • Hygiene and Grooming: Provide or assist patients with personal hygiene services, including bathing, oral care, and dressing, while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Mobility Support: Assist patients with physical mobility needs, such as ambulation, repositioning, and bed rest, to ensure their comfort and safety.
  • Nutrition and Meal Support: Assist patients with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration, while maintaining accurate calorie counts and NPO records.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills to process and interface information between the healthcare team and patients, families, and significant others.
  • Vital Signs and Treatment Administration: Assess and record patients' vital signs, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respirations, and administer treatments and procedures in accordance with established policies and patient care standards.
  • Rounds and Safety Checks: Perform ongoing unit rounds and scheduled room searches to ensure patients' comfort and safety needs are met, and report any significant events or incidents to the RN and/or LPN staff.
  • Environmental Maintenance: Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly patient and unit environment, including bedmaking and stock supplies/linen management.
  • Milieu Management: Monitor the unit environment and report any significant events or incidents to the RN and/or LPN staff to ensure a safe and healthy milieu.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience: None specified.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience. Experience in the mental health field is preferred.
  • Licenses and Certifications: CNA preferred.
