Job Title: Policy Analyst III

VTG is seeking a highly skilled Policy Analyst III to support our government customer in Washington, DC. This is a 100% onsite position that requires a TS/SCI Security Clearance.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide policy analysis and support to the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Counterterrorism.
  • Liaise with regional and functional bureaus within the Department of State and the interagency to advance policy objectives.
  • Advise the Office Director and Deputy Director on special projects and initiatives.
  • Support diplomatic engagements involving the Secretary of State and other Department and interagency principals.
  • Participate in interagency meetings and prepare leadership for various meetings, speeches, and presentations.
  • Conduct outreach and manage relationships with international organizations and NGOs as needed.
  • Research, prepare, and review policy papers and briefing checklists on key topics.
  • Support the organization and conduct of conferences and meetings.
  • Support other projects as directed, including high-level USG visits.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience preferred, with a focus on international studies, political science, national security, or foreign policy.
  • State Department policy experience preferred, but policy experience in other federal agencies may be considered.
  • Able to travel up to 20% overseas.
  • Able to brief and work effectively with high-ranking officials.
  • Strong understanding of the paper process and procedures at the State Department.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to learn and retain policies and viewpoints of the assigned office.
  • Strong understanding of interagency coordination and ability to work across multiple organizations.
  • Experience engaging in an international context and planning and coordination with interagency or international partners.
  • TS/SCI Security Clearance required.

Contingent Upon Contract Award

Pay Range: VTG's estimated starting pay range is $66,000-$80,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location.
