We are seeking a highly skilled Child Life Specialist to join our team at UF Health Shands. As a key member of our pediatric care team, you will play a vital role in assessing and providing services to hospitalized children and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Assess the psychosocial and developmental needs of pediatric patients and their families
- Develop and implement therapeutic interventions to improve coping skills and psychosocial functioning
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care and support
- Provide education and support to families on child development and family dynamics
- Bachelor's degree in a human service area, such as Child Life, Child Development, or Child and Family Studies
- Master's degree preferred
- Extensive knowledge of child and adolescent growth and development
- Two years of experience working with children in a healthcare setting preferred
- CCLS/CTRS certification and experience
- Previous hospital experience or training
- Clinical internship in progress or internship eligible per ACLP guidelines
