Patient Access Registration Specialist PRN

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for managing patient accounts, resolving billing issues, and ensuring accurate registration processes within Intermountain's policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate patient encounters using multiple system applications
• Identify and communicate patient financial responsibility
• Collect patient copays and deductibles
• Coordinate self-pay patient flow to Financial Counselor or program eligibility vendor
• Review and audit registration data for accuracy
• Demonstrate complete understanding and application of registration policies and procedures
• Remain flexible in scheduling to meet department and organizational needs

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent, required
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in acute care, medical office, or insurance, required
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, required
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, required
• CHAA (Certified Health Access Associate), preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Interact with others through effective communication, both orally and in writing
• Operate computers and other office equipment, requiring the ability to move fingers and hands
• See and read computer monitors and documents
• Remain sitting or standing for long periods to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment
• May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling, and reaching
