Job Summary

As an Inpatient Registered Dietitian PRN, you will play a vital role in facilitating the nutrition care process to provide patients with optimal medical nutrition therapy. This position requires a strong understanding of nutrition and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities
  • Counsel and instruct outpatients and/or families, providing written instruction materials
  • Evaluate and document patient and/or caregiver understanding of diet based on behavioral objectives
  • Evaluate, interpret, and use pertinent current research relating to nutrition to develop and revise education materials and teaching outlines
  • Respond to telephone requests/referrals, sending information as appropriate
  • Participate in programs and education for staff, patients, and community
  • Document patient visits and bill patients for services according to established policy and procedures
  • Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abide by service behavior standards
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with dietetic internship or equivalent
  • Registration with the ADA Commission on Dietitian Registration
  • Current BLS or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire
Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to interact with others effectively, operate computers and other office equipment, and remain sitting or standing for long periods of time. May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
