We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Manager to join our team at American Express. As a Senior Manager, Centurion New York Events, you will be responsible for leading the planning and execution of events at our luxurious Centurion Lounge in New York City.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the sales and operations of the event space, ensuring seamless execution of events and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and standard operating procedures to drive business growth and excellence.
  • Manage and cultivate relationships with clients, including serving as the primary point of contact for new event proposals and ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Develop and coordinate sales collateral, including event menus, in partnership with culinary and operations teams.
  • Develop and oversee management of internal operating budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability.
  • Anticipate and address customer service needs, resolving all matters where expectations are not met and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain effective communication with American Express Hospitality General Manager, Membership Concierge Professional teams, and F&B operator.
  • Conduct pre- and post-event evaluations and report on outcomes, providing insights for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of previous sales and events management experience, preferably in an in-venue operation with similar service, guest relations, and operational standards.
  • Solutions-oriented, strategic thinker with attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to relay creative solutions and remain flexible across various problem-solving approaches.
  • Strong leadership abilities, sound judgment, and knowledge of Sales, Catering & Event Service operations.
  • Exceptional project management and budgeting skills.
  • May require schedule flexibility (days, nights, and/or weekends).
