Job Description

Role Overview

Special Olympics New York, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Development to lead our fundraising efforts in New York City. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure funding from corporate and individual donors, as well as managing our peer-to-peer fundraising events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet our annual goals
  • Manage our peer-to-peer fundraising events, including the polar plunges
  • Identify, cultivate, and steward corporate and individual donors
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement sponsorship proposals and opportunities
  • Track and measure program success

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of three years of experience in fundraising, preferably in a not-for-profit organization
  • Strong knowledge of the philanthropy environment in Westchester County and the Hudson Valley Region
  • Excellent public presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with efficiency
