Job Title: Senior Construction Risk Engineering Consultant

Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Risk Engineering Consultant to join our team in the West region. This is a work-from-home role based in the Denver area, with a company car provided and expected travel of 40-50% of the time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead risk engineering efforts for multiple large construction accounts in the region, including serving as the lead engineer for a major general contractor account.
  • Adapt Zurich's innovative solutions to the construction industry to minimize customer losses and improve sustainability and business resiliency.
  • Leverage Zurich's risk engineering tools and services to improve customer risk and general account management for customers purchasing Zurich Construction Insurance products.
  • Deliver high-quality construction consultative services, including identifying exposures and program risk control gaps to form the basis of risk mitigation recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain positive customer and business partner relationships, collaborating with customers and partners to develop service plans.
  • Market and sell a range of fee services to customers supporting their risk mitigation efforts.
  • Produce advanced-level presentations and deliver risk management training for customers and internal business partners.
  • Provide risk improvement advice, conduct loss investigations, and implement risk improvement programs.
  • Assist customers in developing corporate and project-specific QA/QC plans, safety plans, and investigating construction defects when applicable.
  • Participate in sales team meetings and presentations to brokers and customers, contributing to fee income sales through opportunity spotting and cross-selling.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience in construction risk engineering, safety/risk management, or construction field operations, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, ARM, or CHST are preferred.
  • Advanced level knowledge of construction safety, operations, quality management, and associated construction risks and exposures.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and consulting skills, with the ability to communicate and consult at both corporate and project site levels effectively and professionally.
