Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Engineer to join our team at Flatiron Construction. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring that construction work meets all engineering standards, codes, and contract specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project crews to review production schedules and confirm availability of materials, equipment, and resources.
  • Analyze shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements, and project data to ensure quality and contract specification compliance.
  • Provide technical input for project work plans and scheduling, identifying potential risks to budget and schedule.
  • Evaluate daily production, schedule, and budget projections to track project performance.
  • Document daily activities using approved methods and technologies.
  • Notify team members and manager of significant schedule changes and recommend solutions.
  • Remit accurate project quantity input and control project financials.
  • Review and approve daily timecards for construction crews.
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Assist estimating team with project schedules and provide technical input.
  • Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedule, and crews as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
  • 1+ years of construction engineering experience required.
  • Beginner knowledge of construction equipment, techniques, drawing, specifications, building materials, and required standards.
  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Proven self-starter and self-motivated to learn and grow knowledge.
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling and production time management.
